Glass
I hope you forgive me
Treating you normal as I should
But I ignore how fragile you are
With no safe place to hide
Glass so thin and precious
A prize for any eye to see
Beautiful inside and out
Gleaming in the sun
But so slender, so breakable
Why couldn’t you be stronger?
Why can’t I set you down without worry?
Why did this have to happen to you?
To us?
Protection can only go so far
Knowing you only weaken with the time
Try to let you stand on your own to feet
Try to beat the natural process
Let you hold yourself up
But the glass always falls down
The glass always shatters
And my world goes with it
All to pieces, All to the floor
