The Little Man
His feet beneath him fall
The little man must crawl
The gas around him fills
Four cold, objective walls
The little man has cried
Like us – he too has sighed
Our hatreds shift about
As restless as the tide
He’s so much left to say
His shame’s been stripped away
He’s blinded yet he knows
When shadows cease to play
The little man knows why
The reason’s in his eye
One day this man was born
For the crime of life he’ll die
