My World
This is the world that meets my eye
Beneath my feet, and way up high
Brilliant colors flying by
Like silken ribbons in the sky
Around me people laugh and cry
Their bodies pulse and their lips sigh
Only organs, bones, blood and flesh
Tangled in a complex mesh
But who am I? who stands so still
Yearning to know for what I yearn
I watch the colors flying by
Like flashing ribbons in the sky
I wonder at the shades so swirled
And it comes to me; who might I be
If only there was only me
And no one else in the world?
