Dear Mom
When you asked me what I thought of him
I told you the cold, hard truth
I said to you, "Mommy, I don't like him."
You got angry and left the room
I wasn't acting like your puppet
Like you wanted everyone to do
At age 8 I changed my mind
What I wanted wasn't you
You both fought hard to keep us
We all know what happened in the end
The one that was the better parent
Got custody of all three children
I think about you daily
Sometimes I wish you never left
You gave me nothing to remember
But a mother I still regret
