The Argonath
Steady on the ancient river grand
Whose shores the waves cannot renew,
And forests secret sheath the land,
Its mortal shadows blind of view.
The venerable honors envisioned past
Rest silent, crumbled in their bed
Of leaf beneath the trees, which cast
Somber shadows on stony dead.
Traverse to yielding river's end.
Suffer the curious and the bold
To envelop all the river's bend
And look upon the kings of old.
