The Paradox of Life
I've never understood why you do what you do.
Can't you care about someone other than you?
Promises were broken and tears stained her face.
Yet no one can ever fill your place
You took her hand and helped her grow.
Then took her to her lowest low.
Your words seemed to break her heart,
But it was your absence that tore her apart.
Each passing day she fell further into a hole.
One of darkness that drowned her soul.
Without you here, she was lost in desperation.
Broken into a single fragmentation.
You didn't care or show concern,
And still she waits for your return
