Like A Carousel
Love is like a carousel.
You go around and around and around,
around and around and around,
until you finally come to a stop.
It's the endless push and pull of emotions.
You think you know what's right,
You think you even know what's best.
But do we ever really know?
I don't think so.
Like a carousel love is a child's fantasy.
It looks fun and lovely and you feel free.
But it's not like that.
Like a carousel it always comes to a stop.
It always ends.
Again and again it's the same thing.
It ends, it always ends.
You never know when.
You never have time to prepare.
You think you do, but you don't.
You never do.
It always comes to an end.
Around and around it goes.
Innocence and faith built up in this one miniscule thing.
And it all goes to waste.
Just like a carousel.
