"if you're not 1st you're last"

Agony flows through my veins
Burning as it circulates
Creating an unbearable sensation.
Death is my only escape.
Eventually I’ll have to take it upon myself to end the pain.
For this will soon become too much
Grieving- always grieving
How could anyone expect to deal?
In the end, who knows if anyone can?
Just another victim
Killed internally by the battle for survival.
Liars prosper in this unjust world.
Murderers survive.
One, to know the truth
People pretending

Quarantined in the human illness.
Restrained by our hatred.
Sucked dry of all hope.
Trapped in despair
Until the last demons sing.
Violent lives ending violently.

Xanthic acid is dissolving my soul.
You could have done something…
Zap! Now I’m gone.

The author's comments:
I was looking up types of poems and I found the ABC poem and thought it was simple so I decided to give it a twist and make it my own.

Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.

Love the ABC theme, how unique! Looking through your poems, I have found that you have a very distinct, clear voice which flows in all of your work! You are very talented!

I love the way this was written.
It definitely took some talent to do each line in the sequence of the alphabet, and still have it make sense.
A very great piece! :)

I like how you had each line start with the next letter AND how it stays on one topic! Great job!

Whoaaa. Is that huge space intentional? I can see it working.

This was definitely an interesting poem... not quite sure of what to make of it.
