A perfect summers night
Just the sky and me
So i picked the brightest star
That my eyes could see

I named that star
And felt pretty lame
But now it had a title
It was all mine to claim

I thought about what i wanted
Or better yet, needed
Nothing came to mind
Yet, i remained seated

My first thought was more money
But then again im not ever poor
A larger amount would be nice
But i want so much more

I could wish for that special girl
The one that makes me laugh
But i dont want just one wish
To lead me down that path

So i wish for a better understanding
Especially of courage and love
Maybe then i'll meet that girl
And together rise above
