Don't Look Back
“Don’t Look Back”
“Don’t look back,” he told himself over and over again.
Although, his life was falling apart right before his eyes.
“You’re better without her.”
His feet dragged on, his hands clutched to his sides.
He felt like he was on his way to hell.
“Don’t look back,” he told himself over and over again.
She was right behind him, a few feet away.
He could easily look back, run back and beg for forgiveness.
“You’re better without her.”
His eyes ached and stung with dread.
He couldn’t hear anything around him, he was too stunned.
“Don’t look back,” he told himself over and over again.
Before him was a sea of nothingness.
All things he’d once known were gone.
“You’re better without her.”
“Keep going, no looking back, don’t give into this.”
But...
“Don’t look back,” he told himself over and over again.
“You’re better without her.”
