A Call Back Home
You used to watch me grow
You used to watch me play
You used to watch me laugh
 You would smile at me
You would hold me tight when I cried
As I tried to be a strong daddy’s girl

When I cried, you would cry
When I laughed, you would laugh
When I’m sad, you were sad
 When I smiled, you smiled
But now you’re gone and I’m stuck all alone
 In this cold wind

You’re like a flower gone in the wind
As though I was your little chime
You’re like a bird blown away in the storm
As though I was your call back home
You’re like a tree swaying back and forth
As though I was your shelter in trouble

When you were gone, I would wish
When you were gone, I would hope
When you were gone, I would pray
When you were gone, I would cry
But I know now that you were there
 Even when you were gone
