I Stand
In my mind I saw me breaking
 My footsteps now I’m retracing
 Back to the place
 That had me veering
On the course I’m now retreating
I smell sweat in the air
And hear my tears falling where?
Cause the road that I’m now taking
 Is nowhere, now receding
 The agony im now facing
Is the one that keeps me running
I look into the eyes of my oppressor
And notice the eyes of it
 My love
The words in my mouth die
And my tears began to dry
I stop and notice the one
I once called my love, my life, my all
I stand up and say no more running
 No more crying
In my mind I saw me breaking
 My footsteps now I’m retracing
 Back to the place
 That had me veering
On the course I’m now retreating
 Yes, I loved him once
 But that is no more
 I found myself
 And love is no more
