My Mirror
Who is the person looking back at me?
Her soft hazel-gray eyes now tinged with tears
Is this who I want to be?
This stranger looking back at me?
The girl filled with fears?
She taunts me, my reflection
She carries the same looks as I
The make-up covered complexion
The fake, popular affection
The dead hair straightened to perfection
And you can tell she wants to cry
But it’s hidden under all the lies
However, she doesn’t carry the worries I do
The stress that leaves me depressed
The days I have to muddle through
And the emotional pains that infest
She doesn’t need to worry about those things
Because she’s only my reflection
My vision is clearer
My goals are nearer
However I still hold envy
Over my mirror
