Oppression
The World has never
really known
the struggles we've gone through
on our own.
Our pride is what they take away
somber faces as we walk away.
We always tend
to shy away,
as we watch our world
turn gray.
Our songs of freedom
are never heard
our fragile cries
are never cured.
All our smiles
turn to frowns
they all plan
to bring us down.
Their hearts are cold
like December
They souls they took
we can't remember.
The ropes are tied
the game is lost,
the line we drew
is the line they crossed.
Life should be
what is ours to own
but instead we walk
these roads alone.
