How Difficult To See

I do not understand
Why friends become enemies
Why the sun must burn us so
Why there is no escape
But most of all, I do not understand
Why we cannot get the happy endings we wish for
Should life not be as fair and as just
As the idea of living
Instead of just another job to do
While waiting for death to come
(The only happy ending left)?
What I understand most is truth
Pure honesty hides nothing
Means no harm
Truth is trust
Trust is love
Love is life worth living
How difficult can that be to see?
