When you have dabbled in the world
Your time has run its course
When the entire world is standing still
And all is calm
This will be the way
When you are dead and gone.
When life is finally finished,
And all your time is through
This is what will happen
When you are dead and gone.
When the beating of your drums
Is done with its merry tune
When all is warm and gentle
This is what will be
When you are dead and gone.
But we have much time to spend
For its many years my friends
Till you are dead and gone.
