Narrow paths of winding woods

leading up to such falsehoods

in between the winding streams

where we stood to see the trees.

We stood so merely talking about the redwood trees

Talking in such livelihood looking for the backwoods

you stood singing and I stood quietly listening to your song

as birds sang along longing for a good song.

Pushing through your last words

where you'd say you'd stay underneath the redwoods

wish I could stay but sadly I've gone away

and now the woods are coldly pushing away.

I sit outside the cold woods watching as you go

now its hard to say but you've finally gone away

goodbye my ever sweet woods so very misunderstood

between the raging woods the songs of great redwoods.
