Light in Darkness
Leave me here,
Where shadows lie,
Concealing sorrow
From the liar’s eye.
Where hate and sorrow forever prevail,
You shall find me lurking in shadow.
The darkness holds new hope for me,
As I fight for a better tomorrow.
I have lived in light all my life,
Yet all I found there was deceit.
I now have found a better place,
And in darkness I do retreat.
Dark can be brighter than the light.
If you should dare to look deeper,
You will see, we are kind and strong,
Here where we shelter the weaker.
When words of the selfish cut your heart,
Raise your head and drop your blade.
Find strength among us in the dark,
Where your scars may finally fade.
