The Clock, Fire, and Song
We fall asleep to a song in chime
Lying, warmed by the fire
We hear a lasting, soothing tune
From tonight’s lullaby choir
O’er and o’er his ballad plays
Across the rooms of set ablaze
Unfiltered heat from the flame
The stroke of ten and warming craze
By the clock and fire came
Lo and see he keeps his song
Within the home of all that’s good
We soundly rest in peace
The doors are locked and windows sealed
Safety kept with no release
And nothing stops the chanting clock
