Ode to my Mother
My mother is my best friend
And the first one that I had
She taught me to live like the day will never end
And to keep my chin up when I'm sad
She taught me to live the righteous way by telling me nonsense lies
"Your toys will be eaten by the big black bag!" she'd state
And I cleaned my room without a say
Not doubting her beautiful hazel kiwi eyes
And every night she'd tuck me in; telling me I'm her best friend; that she loves me; and I was left wishing I could relive the day because it was just so great.
