A Heart of Black
I'm tired of this disease of hate.
I'm sick of this pit of lies.
I just want out.
Is it so hard to see I'm hurting,
Dying on the inside?
I want out of this agony.
Your pride has eaten your heart
from the inside out.
Vanity has caused your blood to run ice cold.
Your tongue itself is a road paved in pain,
A weapon of destruction.
Don't you see what you're doing?
Are you really so oblivious
that you can't see my tears?
Your words are like knives,
Your hands like splinters.
You have a problem,
Don't you see?
This thrill won't be eternal.
Things won't always be this easy.
So squirm,
Crawl,
Do as you please.
All that upholds you will one day pass.
What then will you have left?
I'm sick of your black heart;
I'm ready to find a new beginning;
Start fresh.
I'm breaking free.
