T-Day
Fragments scattering
they’re slipping through my fingers
as I try to gather them to me
afraid of losing each one
any one, knowing
it would shatter my world.
I focus on one, ensuring
its safety by dooming another,
my mind can’t work straight
my thoughts can’t adjust
with the pressure this event has
weighed upon me, which one
is more important? I can’t
Save them all.
