The Adventure of a Brazilian Wandering Spider
I hug bananas in sunlight and walk the forest by moonlight
In mounds where ants burrow I slumber, kicking those drilling pests out
My venom does all work on them
225 mice turn limp from my bite, and savage beasts scurry at my hiss
And fangs have a habit of sinking in more than once
But packaged in a dark cube and taken from home
I was still among the curved, yellow fruit
And opened to faces of sunburned giants awaiting someplace new
These strangers bellowed at my sight and I was immediately thrust as such
Into a frothing, bubbling, boiling pot of liquid
