This is me
Girl, African American, Talker
There is more to who I am
You see my outside
But I feel my insides
They tell me show yourself
Dance when you feel like it
Sing aloud when the urge starts
But I don’t
I suppress the urge to do what I want
To wear what I want
To say what I want
The voice in my head constantly says
“Don’t, you’ll look stupid”
I’ll look around
And see other people
But not their insides
I wonder what they’re feeling
