Indolence
I’m drowning in laziness,
 Cracked leather and tea,
I’ve lost my way in a maze
 Of musty pages
 And crumbly shortbread cookies.
 I am well suited to
 Accumulated calories
 And fictional worlds.
 But reality’s sirens
 Scream of homework
 And responsibilities
 That can’t be put off
 At least not any longer.
 So reluctantly,
I put down my book, and wipe
 The crumbs of indulgence away.
