What's In My Head
What’s in my head
Is a disgraceful mess filled with (but not limited to)
The salty smell of the of the ocean
And the calls of seagulls on patrol
The annoying chitty-chat of those darn squirrels
And the feeling of running over a rock on my bike
The awful whir of my tired computer
The voices of people whose names I never knew
My new neighbor’s quote-on-quote “music”
During the late hours
A couple of reasons to move to Montana
The thrill of skiing in the forest
And the fluffy white stuff
We call snow
A tasty Thanksgiving turkey dinner
What I would do with $10,000,000
(Yeah, take that Washington lottery)
The mechanical clicking of my fishing pole
Mindlessly working away
And all the memories of summer,
Safely tucked in bed
With warn milk and cookies
All asleep for the winter onslaught and anything else that may come
Along with a lot of bits and pieces of partially forgotten memories
Still clinging to life
Squashed among
The junk and thoughts that crowd my head.
