On a sunny day,
in an old backyard,
a lonely swing
rocks back and forth.
The sun beats down upon it,
upon its faded floral cushion.
Although it is old and torn,
the cushion welcomes visitors.
Its paint is chipping
and soon
it will fall,
but the swing still stands,
if only for today.
