Seven
The envious cries, the nefarious deep
All of the creatures that haunt you in sleep
Making and baking and taking your lies
Tending a poisonous plant 'til sunrise
Roots growing down and leaves reaching up
The fruits of your labor on which you may sup
A darkness is growing, a pinprick-sized seed
Down in those shadows, those shades watch you bleed
A toss and a turn and a lesson to learn
You get what you want but you feel yourself burn
Fuel be the juice that runs down your chin
Bitter lovely fruit is bathed in sin
We mortals love the Apple too well
But more than one taste will condemn you to Hell
