Beautiful

On the cold streets
Never given a chance?

How do we know
What love is
If we don’t know
What unlove is?

How do we love
The perfect ‘him’
Or the perfect ‘her’
If we haven’t loved
The cheaters,
The liars,
The schemers,
The users

How do we know
What life is
If we don’t know
What unlife is?

How do we know
We’ve lived our life
To the very fullest
If we have never
Lived a day
Without expression?

For,
Beauty
Does not counter ugly
Beauty
And its counter
Will always
Take your breath
Away.

And,
Love
Does not counter hate
Love
And its counter
Will always
Get your pulse
Raging.

And,
Life
Does not counter death
Life
And its counter
Will always
Produce
Something new.
