Asylum
Harsh bars obstructing the view of my nightmare
The floors worn and dusty, sticking to my bare feet
Eyes red and guilty from lack of sleep and shame
A hidden view of the outside world
Only a patch of moonlight creeping in
Thru the tiny window, high on the walls
Face sagging with grief and misery
It wasn’t my fault, it was an accident
Am I doomed to lie forever w/in this prison?
Alone to me with my thoughts, eating away at my soul
Wishing for things to be the way they used to be
Back to the beginning before my foolish choices
Wishing myself home on an evening star
