Platform Shoes
THEN: We shared spotted white walls,
 cassette tapes, and bunk beds.
I got the bottom, my superior the top.

who didn’t mind when I danced around
 in her platforms.
NOW: We have different colored walls,
 CD’s, and separate beds.

 who doesn’t mind it
 when my feet slip into
 her six inch stiletto heels
 that I’ve borrowed for prom.
