Based on the 2012 Production
(Though the original is far better)
?
EXT. ROAD, WASHINGTON STATE - DAY
DARYL (17) stands in the middle of the road, flanked by trees
on both sides, holding a SAW (MG), as his friends drive away,
he does a "peace" sign, then turns to face the opposite way
on the road. He has a backpack next to him.
This was the last we saw of Daryl in the end of the first
film.
Daryl picks up the backpack, straps it on, at moves off of
the road and waits behind a large tree.
We can hear TRUCK approaching from the distance.
Daryl has fear in his eyes, he knows what is about to happen,
they were followed because of him, he was the one who got
bugged, and the one they had to leave behind.
The truck gets closer, and we see it is a North Korean
soldier transport, with at least ten soldiers in the bed, and
a Russian Spetznaz officer in the passenger seat, this is
COL. IVANOV (50s).
The truck stops and Col. Ivanov is the first one out, with
the soldiers piling out of the truck behind him. He holds up
a tablet and looks at the screen. He's following Daryl's
location.
COL. IVANOV (Korean; subtitled)

They're here! Find them!
The soldiers start approaching Daryl's location, he primes
himself up then jumps out from behind the tree, FIRING madly.
Two of the soldiers are shot, and killed, and the rest return
FIRE at they make their way behind trees for cover on the
opposite side of the road.
Col. Ivanov pulls his pistol and FIRES several shots at
Daryl, then takes cover behind the door of the truck.
COL. IVANOV (CONT'D) (Korean; subtitled)

It's only one! Crush him!
The soldiers FIRE out from behind the trees and Daryl huddles
up behind the tree, we can tell he's freaking out.
Daryl leans back out from behind the tree and starts FIRING
again.

DARYL

Wolverines!
Daryl kills another enemy soldier, but then he is SHOT
through the shoulder and drops his rifle.
S***!
DARYL (CONT'D)
Two soldiers make their way over to Daryl's location while he
applies pressure to his wound, the other soldiers are
watching with their weapons raised.
The two soldiers pull Daryl out from behind the tree and
start pulling him towards the road, he tries to fight them,
but can't.
DARYL (CONT'D) You a**holes! Get off of me!
Col. Ivanov watches as the soldiers force Daryl to kneel in
the middle of the road. Col. Ivanov walks over to him.

COL. IVANOV

(now in perfect English,

Russian accent)

You're friends, they just left you

behind?

DARYL

It was my choice.

COL. IVANOV

Well, it was stupid.

DARYL

Better than you finding them.

COL. IVANOV

You do know who I am, correct?

DARYL

Yeah, you're Spetznaz,

anti-insurgency specialist. Jed

told me.

COL. IVANOV

Was Jed the one we found with a

hole in his head?
Col. Ivanov enjoys picking at Daryl.
DARYL (angrier)

Yeah -- that's him, alright. You

shot him through the head. He was a

good guy.

COL. IVANOV

I'm sure he was.
2.

DARYL

What do you want with us?

COL. IVANOV

My country has invested a lot of

money into Korea for this invasion

and I will not have it spoiled by a

bunch of little brats.
Col. Ivanov puts his pistol flush to Daryl's head.

DARYL

They're gonna crush you, they're

going to tear you limb from l...
Col. Ivanov SHOOTS Daryl through the head without a seconds
hesitation.

COL. IVANOV

Sorry about that kid, I really hate

monologues.
Col. Ivanov turns to the rest of the soldiers.
COL. IVANOV (CONT'D) (Korean; subtitled)

Leave them a message.
EXT. ROAD - LATER
SWITCH TO:
A car pulls up on the side of the road and MATT (18), ROBERT
(17), both holding rifles.

MATT

Oh my G-d...
We turn to see Daryl's body in the middle of the road, a pool
of blood behind his head, and his chest all cut open, with
the words "GIVE UP, WOLVERINES" written in his blood next to
the body.
Robert pukes, takes a sip of water, then turns to Matt.

ROBERT

Why the hell did we have to come
back here?

MATT

I felt bad, leaving him behind like
that...

ROBERT

Then you should've done something

about that then! Now he's dead --

3.

ROBERT (CONT'D)

he's f***ing dead, Matt!

MATT

I didn't know it would be like

this, Robert.

ROBERT

He was my best friend! Before all

this started it was just me and

him! And you left him! You killed

him!
Robert raises his rifle and points it at Matt, Matt takes a
couple of steps back and rests his hand on his pistol, in his
holster attached to his belt.

MATT

Look, Robert, I know how this
feels, okay.

ROBERT

The hell you do!

MATT

Do you even remember that my

brother was killed yesterday! I

didn't get to say goodbye to him,

because he was shot through the

damn head! You know how that

feels?! Do you?

ROBERT

You left him here, you coulda told

him to get his ass back into the

car, but you didn't.

MATT

I'm not the boss of us, Robert.

ROBERT

Yeah, you are. After Jed died, it

was you. We all saw it.

MATT

I'm the leader, not the boss. I

lead you into battle, I don't tell

you how to live your life!

ROBERT

I should kill you!

MATT

It was his choice, Robert, remember

that? You told him he was bugged,

that's on you! But it was his

choice to stay behind...
4.
Robert lowers his rifle slowly, then lets it slip out of his
hands. He falls to the ground and puts his head down and his
hands on his face, he's crying.
Matt takes his hand off of his pistol, walks over to Robert
and kneels down next to him.

ROBERT

(through tears)

I shouldn't have said anything... I

should've just -- let it go.

MATT

If it wasn't for you, we'd all be

dead. But he made the call to stay

behind. He should've run, but he

didn't. He stayed, and he fought,

like Wolverines do.

ROBERT

What happens now?
Matt looks down at Daryl's body.

MATT

We do what Jed taught us to do. We

keep resisting, keep fighting.
Robert hesitates a moment.

ROBERT

You know, the day's gonna come when

it's us laying a pool of blood,

what do we do then?

MATT

Tanner told us we weren't the only

ones, there'll be more people who

are willing to fight. There's

always gonna be more people wanting

to join the fight.

ROBERT

If they keep killing us like this,

eventually, the people will quit,

Matt.

MATT

But we won't. Not until we're in

the ground, right Robert?

ROBERT

I don't know if I can make that
promise.
5.
MATT

Well -- make up your mind...
Matt gets up, walks back over to the car and opens the
driver's side door.

MATT (CONT'D)

...Before someone makes it for you.
Matt gets into the car and waits.
Robert takes one last look at Daryl, then grabs his rifle and
gets to his feet. He walks over to the car and opens the
passenger door.

ROBERT

Alright, Matt -- fight til we're in
the ground.

MATT

Hell yeah.
Robert gets in and pulls his door shut. The car starts and
they drive off.
END.
FADE TO BLACK.
