There was once a boy named Colletis.
He was as average as one could be.
There was nothing special about him.
Nothing special the eyes could see.

His parents were too, average.
But they kept poor Colletis outside.
In the sun or in the rain.
Yet they were sure to provide.

Nothing bad became of Colletis.
As he grew up he had all that he would need.
He never cried and never complained.
He just sat outside among the weeds.

As he grew he remained the same.
Just sitting outside, all alone.
His parents never thinking twice.
What his fate held was unknown.

Then one year when Colletis was mature.
He somehow managed to thrive.
Yet his parents fed on his good fortune.
And finally recognized that he was alive.

This continued on for some time.
The same pattern year after year.
His parents taking from his success.
And without even shedding a tear.

But one day this came to a halt.
As Colletis became weak and died.
Still staying in his parents backyard.
Keeping true and staying outside.

His parents were rather unaffected.
Still living day to day.
They didn’t even miss him.
They just continued on their way.

This would be a sad story.
I will admit that it is rather bizarre.
Though there is a certain reason.
Of why it should not leave any scars.

I think that I should be to the point.
And not go on a rant.
The main character Colletis.
Is just simply a plant.
