Trapped
Sometimes when I close my eyes
I can escape these gloomy confines.
I journey down a dirty path.
Barefoot, i twirl and skip and laugh.
For, I am going to see my friends. Trees meet me where the road now ends.
A change in the road for a change in the air.
There is clearly magic here.
I wander through the forestation, And soon I hear tintinnabulation.
A shriek of joy, a tinkle of bells,
I enter now our world of spells.
The atmosphere begins to shine
The way a mirror reflects the light.
It's almost blinding, but i know
The uncomfortable feeling will soon go.
I blink to see my own old friends
I hear the bells begin again.
We all dance to the glorious sound
And then I feel my thin wings sprout.
We fly up and up to the top of the trees.
We dance alongside the butterflies and bees.
I feel so free my soul could burst,
But then a sound brings me back to earth.
A tap on the glass and a shake of my prison.
I forgot that I was trapped by these wretched human children.
I am a fairy, I come from a far,
But here i am stuck in this empty jam jar.
