Left to rot in the coming dark
a survivor on a drifting ark
rumors are she won’t last long
but she opens her mouth to dovesong
desolate figure perched on the mast
an ominous storm approaches fast
faded sun and photographs yellow
she remembers voices mellow
fractured sentences and vanishing fame
her consciousness is not entirely sane
paragraphs contrasting neatly
the prow is lifting, rising steeply
barely a sound
bodies never found
cold swallows
coma follows
