Need Love?

See it but never feel it.
Get close, only to push it away.
“Don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone”
Epitome of my life.
What is wrong with me?
What makes me so un-lovable?
Can someone remove this defective sign from my forehead,
And replace it with a kiss.
I want more than mediocre.
I want someone to miss.
Do I ask for too much?
Are my requirements unachievable?
My heart remains unconquered, unattained.
I’m tired of fairy tale endings,
Silly thoughts put in my head by unrealistic, but hopelessly believable movies.
They are all the same.
Girl meets boy. Girl messes it up. Boy forgives girl.
Happily Ever After.
At least they let on that relationships have problems.
I want raw, unrelenting love.
The real deal.
No movie, novel, or episode of “Sex and the City” could ever touch.
Left alone, drowning in thoughts,
Who else in the world could need love,
Like I need love?

I think this poem portrays a feelings that a lot of people can relate to, but it's a little bit of a diary entry- you are pouring out your heart. It would be better if you coul send a message to the audience as well, or make them think more. Great job! I would love to hear your feedback on my poetry- it is very different from yours. Thanks for sharing:)

I completely understand what you are interpreting in this poem. It’s the raw truth that so many of us deny we really need and want. I wish to read more of your work my fellow poet.

This was so powerful. You're a fantastic writer. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear your opinion of my poem Broken Structure. Cheers. :)

I kind of like it, but I got a little confused? I'm more used to poems with rythems, sorry, but I can really relate to yours.

Oh my gosh was that really about yourself or just a poem you created?

I really liked this poem and it was very detailed. The cliches that were often mentioned really helped me better understand the poem, the rhythm and rhyme, also made the poem fluent

This is an deeply understanding piece of work. It accesses the recesses of the subconscience while still displaying the upfront emotions. Everyone has felt this pang of hurt within them during there lives at some time. Some people feel it every day. Thank you for writing something we all can relate to.

I really enjoyed reading it (: I can relate to this so well. All my poems are about love, the negative side. Keep writing ! (:

love it, easy to relate to, this had an awesome rawness to it, really was able to push through all of the "true love" stereotypes and really hit the point that people seem to fail to reach most of the time

I love what you're saying about wanting raw love . . . That's exactly how I feel. And you've worded it so beautifiully. That passage about the kiss replacing the marking, beautiful.
