The mirror smashes on the floor
My foot cut on its glass
Blood streaming from the open wound
Like the one in my poor, betrayed heart
I don’t want to see myself
My face
Convincing, lying eyes
A sorrow hidden behind them
That no one has ever seen
Ever known
Ever understood
Hidden from the world
Heart wrenched open
By the words
They slice my soul
Corrupt my mind
Hurt my heart like a knife
Stabbing me in the chest with every word
Blacken me
No more feeling
No more pain
Just me alone
With my heart
My only friend
My largest enemy
My hate
