The Lost Tattered Soul
The lost tattered soul]
She was a lonely girl, shows the dolls that hung among the shelves
She hurt inside, shows the tear stained tissues that littered the floor
She longed for someone to love her, she longed for someone to care
But her prayers were unanswered and she soon grew quiet.
The razors ruled her life, shows the new and old scars that lined her skin
She hated all that she was, showed the baggy clothes she draped on herself
She couldn’t make it go away, the pain that grew inside lingered
She wanted to be happy again, peaceful and excepted in her own mind.
The pain that sat in her chest grew stronger and stronger by day
Taking her breath with every strike of the knife that lay deep within
Grazing her heart, or what she had left of it, were the unspoken words
She just wanted someone to care, is that too much to ask?
Finally one day she grew fond or one idea, it was of peace and happiness
One that would take her from the pain and the tears, from everything
So she laid out her plans and waited for that day
When happiness would be reunited with her lost tattered soul.
She was found among those dolls on the wall, the ones she once found comfort in
What lay beneath her were those same tear stained tissues that rest in their final place
She had finally found love, in those scattered blood stained razors
Her prayers were finally answered by the silent night that welcomed her.
She was a lonely girl, shows the dolls that hung among the shelves
She hurt inside, shows the tear stained tissues that littered the floor
She longed for someone to love her, she longed for someone to care
But her prayers were unanswered and she had finally grown quiet.
She left with the peaceful memories she had with those dolls
She left with the secrets that lay beneath her tidy sleeves
She found someone who loves her, she found someone who cared
She was finally accepted in her own body and mind.
You never paid attention, you never even cared
What she had done with herself, was never noticed by you
But when you found her hanging, peacefully and dead
It hit you that she was gone and would never return.
You realized she was a lonely girl, you had seen it in those dolls
You realized she hurt inside; you had seen those tattered tissues
You realized she longed for someone to love her, she longed for someone to care
You never answered her prayers her silent pleas of reaction.
You waited too long to notice, shows the body put in the ground
You waited too long to reach out, says the pain within your chest
You waited too long to show your love, whispers the cold crisp air
But you cared, you loved, proves the tears that stain your face.
