Look at the art
Not at the canvass
Beautiful people
Driven to madness.

The tingle of pain
As blood drips down
Has led many people
To whimper and frown.

In America today
It’s part of our culture.
Beauty from pain.
Art from torture

Self expression
Is highly encouraged.
Yet ink on your arm
Is quite discouraged.

Loot at the art
Not at the canvass.
Beautiful people
Driven to madness.

You write beautiful work. I love this poem! "Self expression is highly encouraged. Yet ink on your arm is quite discouraged." Basically- express yourself the way we tell you to! No other way! We get that a lot in school. Anyways, I love this poem!
