sheltered
i laughed at caskets,
cried in the pound.
a hundred expectant eyes of
scared little children, dogs
i couldn't bare
to be that alone.
shiny cadilliac breezing by
stacked cities with
grey toxic billowing clouds
shout covered windows
i felt guilty, for a moment.
then, rolled up the window.
precious tiny bird
in parents porcelin hand.
i dust my cheek
and think not of the
sad stories, stacked high
on the other side of town.
