WAKING UP
IS THE HARDEST PART
Of being closed off from the world.
You find out what you thought is a lie,
And what people said about you was true all along.
The pain, suffering and sheer torture can be destroying.
Dragged down, wrapped in the fresh truth and confused by the lies.
Yet through this
The heart keeps beating
And the mind keeps working
Though at a slower, more defeated pace than before.
Never blink.
Because if you look away for one second
The world can pass you by.
And you will miss it.
Open.
Awake.
Eyes open'
