Concrete snow flakes

wintery
puzzle of
sleet, and
snow

you know I’m messy.
and nothing,
a nought on a
white board
a thing with broken strings
lazy, never right, I’m
wound up and tight
like a high flying  circus act
without a trapeze.

The cross hatched sun was
my ecstasy
and now it's an entity
like a thing that I can’t have for my own
unless I’m
what I think I should be.

That bright, ball of ethereal light
crackling and spitting
day and
night

snowflakes were walls.
the white
concrete was all I could see
as if
this heavenly stuff were a burden to me;
crisp, and freezing
beautiful, fleeting-

to the kids who think they can hold it forever
and the
two that want to build things
together
The first time, the last.
The third, until its past.

The snow was wild to me.
Sudden, in a gentle fury
Flakes clung to my hair
in a silvery mesh of
gold
I didn’t care

Droplets, soft as angels
were foreign,
mingled with my
dry
hard
cutting heart

It left me in a hurry
and split me
two parts.
