Lost and Found
The pilot came out from under the fiery wreck,
And unlike his unfortunate crew and plane,
He told himself, “I’m not going to die today.”
Slowly he crawled, as a snake slithers
He retreated to his side’s base
But suddenly, he realized he’d made a grand mistake
As he looked into an armed enemy’s face.
The pilot gulped and prepared for the worst
And then he realized something grand,
That this was his brother, the older, the first.
The brother dropped down his gun and helped the man up
Then, for the first time in years, the pilot saw
His brother, once lost, found again
The brother said, “Let’s not fight. This war is flawed.”
The pilot agreed, and said, “Let’s be friends, for old time’s sake.
C’mon, brother, let’s ditch this hateful disgrace.”
