Bound
I am lost in a world of infinite limitations.
The paradox engulfs me,
Strangles me,
Twists me,
Then tosses me aside once again
And I am flung into the darkness
And plunged back into the question.
As I trudge through the muck,
Each step becomes forced than the last.
The binds that dig into my wrists
also cut my soul,
For every step forward is met with
One step back.
And though every tendril of light whispers promises
And though I am tempted to run,
Just as the sea can never meet the sky
And humans can never take flight,
I am forever bound.
