summer camp
i say my goodbye's,
goodbye mother,
goodbye father,
good bye sisters.
I walk into the chapel,
im assigned a cabin,
and my bags are immediatly taken.
Our cabins,
named after places,
countries,
cities,
im facinated.
Im nervous,
im a shy person,
when im meeting someone new at least,
in this case im meeting a few new girls.
i set down my bags,
introduce myself,
and begin to look around,
new faces,
i try to comfort myself.
I begin to chatter,
with the girl on the bunk across from me,
she has alot to say,
oh boy,
her name is suzanne,
i dont know it yet,
but she'll be my bestfriend.
soon time for dinner,
head to the dinning hall, all.
we scatter down the hillside,
pouring out from our cabins,
boys on one side,
girls on the other.
we all select tables,
link at the hands,
bow our heads in unison,
prayers are said,
and the feast begins,
later after dinner,
bonfire is lit,
people start to gather,
everyone is looking,
for that one night,
hand to hold,
person to kiss,
to make summercamp,
worth it.
