Mixing Water Colors and Rinsing the Palette.

I wanted brilliant shades
Of golden hues
Sunlight and starshine
Rich and new
I mixed my paints wrong
I got murky hues
It was muddy and slimy
And gave me the blues
I tried cleaning my palette,
A chance to start fresh.
But the water just splashed
All over my dress.
Cold and damp.
Such is life.
