When they met it was love at first sight
The world froze around them and everything felt right.
Never thinking it would happen her wish couldn't come true
But the person she had been waiting for so happened to be you.
When she looked in his eyes
She began to realize
He was the one she wanted to be with forever
And she wasn't going to let him go now that they're together
When their lips touched and they had their very first kiss
Never had she felt a sensation quite like this
Her heart had once been broken and meant nothing to her
But like a puzzle he put the pieces back together
He was all she wanted and that was it
Her broken heart he had now fixed
When he finally came around and said "I love you"
There was compassion in his voice so she knew it was true.
So long she had been waiting for a moment like this
Never thinking it could happen it was just a jinxed wish
For when it did her smile shown bright
Everything was perfect he was her Mr. Right.
Already planning to be together for life
He was determined to marry her and make her his wife.
For he loved her with all of his heart
And nothing could happen or break them apart.
Everyday they sat and thought of each other
Waiting for another day that they could be together.
And when they would meet up once again
The embrace they would share felt as if it would never end.

But her parents were trying to tear them apart
"he's just the kind of guy that will only break your heart"
Screaming and yelling "you don't know him like I do
He said he loved me and he meant it too."
She storms upstairs to be alone in her room
And slams her door with a loud boom
Throwing herself upon her bed
Going over what her parents had said
Not able to keep it in any longer
For consulting her emotions will make her choice stronger
Her pillow dampens while her tears flow
And in her heart she might have always known
That her parents are right he has a bad past
She shouldn't have thought their relationship could last.

She calls him up at half past nine
So they can meet just one last time
Telling him why it just won't work
The words coming out even seem to hurt
Tears dripping off the bottom of her chin
For she knows this relationship has come to an end.
He tries to convince her that he'll get better
But her parents can't stand the fact that they're together
He puts his hands on her face and wipes the tears from her eyes.
But she pushes him away and bids him good-bye.
Leaving him standing there broken and depressed
But its time to go home and get some rest

Lying down on her soft warm bed
Ready to fall asleep and get him out of her head
Her tears still rolling down the side of her cheeks
But right away they put her to sleep.

The End

The author's comments:
Basically my friend loved my poetry and she wanted me to write a poem about her and her boyfriend but while in the making of it they broke up so I added that in. This poem would also qualify for me and one of my ex-boyfriends except the break up in this wouldn't be accurate.
