Bleed

Throwing your lies into my face
Bitter anger haunts this place
Since you've neither lost nor won
You pick up the pieces of our love

Apologies are another promise to be broken
And yours are better left unspoken
Closing my crying eyes, I turn away
Asking myself, why do I stay?

Bruises are easy to cover and hide
Yet deep are the scars seething inside
Secretly I long to run far from your screams
But I'm lulled by the kindness you sometimes seem

I'm hurt by the demon that burns in your eye
The vicious desires that words can't suffice
When I sob all alone, I yearn again to be free

I long to fly far away each time you hit me

So leave me to bleed all on my own
In the presence we still call our home
You know I can never leave this place again
So now I will die and you shall win

I sort of based this on a relationship, but took it to the extreme. While writing this piece, I was listening to 'Face Down' by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and 'Never Too Late' by Three Day's Grace.
