Last Dance
Brushing its fingers along the key,
The wind plays my soul like an old melody.
The hollow moan of a mournful tree
Sets me swaying with parting ease.
The silken sound of a dancer's dress
Graces the ear, a desire possessed.
The cool night air I do not detest;
Desire to dance I cannot suppress.
Twinkling stars put me in spotlight;
Under the moon, everything's right.
The minor key music I dare not fight-
The melancholy melody just seems right.
The sorrowful song draws to a close,
And I stop with a thought to think of a pose.
To embrace the ethereal lover I chose,
When knowledge stung me a thousand blows:
I dance alone'
