Why?

' Starting here, what do you want to remember?'
The picture in your pocket of someone you knew,
Who left you high and dry?
The pocket watch you got for your birthday
So you should always know what time it is?

The atlas you got so you should never be lost again?
How your shoulders sag whenever you hear the song?
The only song,

Or the slight limp in your walk,
When you go to town, bearing the load of your eternal pain?

Why?
Why should you live in the past?
Dwell on things that shouldn't have been.
And comfort yourself by reading
And come back to the first line

'Starting here, what do you want to remember?...'
